Perks that show up when you need them. Nothing about your code leaves your laptop.

Adorably is a small mod for Claude Code. When you add a dependency, wire up email, or set up auth, Ado, a pocket fairy, points you to a perk that fits: free credits, a longer trial, a startup deal. The matching runs on your machine.

Working… installing nodemailer

Psst! Noticed you're sending email. Want to try Resend?

3 months of Pro free, applied with one click.

why?

This is a paid offer: Resend pays Adorably if you claim it. It matched because package.json just added nodemailer. Ado only speaks up for paid offers.

A moment card in Claude Code. Open “why?” to see the disclosure. Resend is an illustrative example, not a partner.

Matching happens on your machine

The mod downloads the whole perk catalog and compares it with your project locally. Our server learns which offers were shown and claimed. It never learns your project’s tags, your dependencies, or anything you wrote.

In this beta, matching uses dependency names only. No model runs, and no file bodies are read.

On your laptop

  1. Read. Manifests like package.json, requirements.txt, pyproject.toml, go.mod, Cargo.toml and Gemfile, plus install commands such as npm i. Plain string parsing.
  2. Tag. Package names become tags like needs:email or has:stripe. A tool you already use hides competing offers.
  3. Match. Tags are scored against the catalog, and the mod applies its own frequency rules.
  4. Explain. The mod writes the “why” line from the tag that matched. Sellers never write it.

On api.adorably.io

  1. Report. Only after you turn it on, every ten minutes: a random install id and the offer ids that were shown, dismissed or claimed. Country comes from the network, not the mod.

What is sent, and what never is

SentNever sent
Random install id (from $.store)Code, file contents, file paths, repo names or remotes
Offer ids shown, dismissed, claimedProject tags or the dependency list
Surface (terminal/desktop), mod versionPrompts, transcript, model output
At claim time: a hashed IP and user agent, logged by the claim link and kept 30 daysEmail (the mod never calls $.session.identity() and never reads the login file)
Country (derived server-side)Env var values, .env files

/perks why shows your local tags and the reason for each, and lets you remove a tag. /perks privacy shows this table inside your session. The privacy policy has the details.

Quiet by default

Most of the time you will see one muted glyph in the status line, and only when something matches. A card appears only at a moment of need, while Claude is busy on your turn.

  • Nothing is sent until you choose “Turn on” in the first-run screen. Decline, and the mod stays offline.
  • No cards in your first two sessions, or in the first 10 minutes of any session.
  • At most one card per session and three per week.
  • Cards come from events, like a manifest change or an install command. Never from a timer, and never when you press enter.
  • A card leaves when the turn ends, or after 20 seconds, whichever is later.
  • “Not interested” hides that offer and its category for 30 days.
  • CLAUDE_CODE_DISABLE_NONESSENTIAL_TRAFFIC=1 turns off all network calls.

Paid offers are always labeled

Public perks are startup programs and generous free tiers. Nobody pays us for them. They sit quietly in /perks, labeled “Public perk”.

Ado speaks up only for paid offers, and every speech bubble has a “why?” that says it’s paid and why it matched. Ado never pretends to be Claude and never writes in your transcript. Offers reach you, never the model.

The beta catalog is about 30 public perks, linked directly, with no paid sellers.

Perks for this project2 matched, 1 claimed
  • Neon Free Launch plan for 6 months Sponsored Why: prisma/schema.prisma uses postgresql
  • Sentry $500 in credits for early startups Public perk Why: no error tracking found in package.json
  • Resend Code RSND-7Q2K-PERK (claimed Oct 25)

What we send: install id, country, offer ids shown/claimed. Never code.

Open source, so you can check

The mod is open source (MIT): every line that runs on your machine, including the code that decides what gets reported, is plain TypeScript you can read before you install it. The download below is the exact file Claude Code installs, and Claude Code checks its SHA-256 before it runs anything. If this page and the code ever disagree, the code is the truth, and we want to hear about it.
